ARATOR is an executive consulting firm specializing in M&A and Licensing projects, focused on the acquisition, sale, and licensing of companies, assets, and intellectual property. Its Managing Partner is fluent in four languages — Spanish, German, English, and French — and has an international network of more than 1,500 contacts across the Life Sciences sectors, with a particular focus on the pharmaceutical, animal health, and crop protection industries. This network has been developed throughout an international career spanning Europe and Latin America since 1996.

Víctor Márceles

ARATOR is led by Víctor Márceles, an international executive with more than 30 years of experience in M&A, Licensing, business development, corporate strategy, and international expansion. His career has been developed across the Life Sciences sectors, with a particular focus on human health, animal health, and agribusiness, leading projects in Latin America and other international markets.

Throughout his career, he has held regional and international leadership positions at multinational companies and high-growth organizations, participating in geographic expansion initiatives, portfolio development, strategic alliance structuring, complex negotiations, technology licensing, and the execution of corporate transactions.

His professional career began in the logistics industry in the early 1990s, followed by experience in the specialty steel sector for industrial applications. At the end of that decade, he began an international career in the agricultural industry, where he held regional and global responsibilities for more than fifteen years. He subsequently assumed leadership positions in the animal health industry and, since 2014, in the pharmaceutical and human health industries at an international level.

Víctor Márceles holds an MBA with Distinction from the University of Bradford (United Kingdom), a degree in Business Administration from Universidad Externado de Colombia, and a degree in International Trade Technology from the Instituto Colombo-Alemán para la Formación Tecnológica.

Projects Led

2026
Led the structuring and negotiation of a long-term exclusive distribution agreement for the Luminova/Unipharm portfolio with SIMKA Group in Honduras, with an approximate annual value of USD 14 million.
2025
Led the divestment of Laboratorios Richmond’s solid-dose pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Bogotá, Colombia, to Costa Rica’s Raven Group, serving as a platform for its entry into the Colombian market. The transaction had an approximate value of USD 10 million.
2023
Led multiple divestments of pharmaceutical brands and marketing authorizations during his tenure at Grupo Procaps between 2017 and 2023 across Latin America. The projects involved pharmaceutical groups such as Roemmers and MegaLabs in Uruguay and Argentina, Sanfer in Mexico, Eurofarma in Brazil, Acino in Switzerland, Grupo Imberton in El Salvador, Grupo Luminova in Guatemala, and SIMKA in Honduras, as well as Faes in Spain.
2022
Led the mega-project involving the acquisition and due diligence of Grupo Somar (owned by Advent International) in Mexico by Grupo Procaps.
2021
Also for Grupo Procaps in 2021, he led the acquisition of a specialized softgel pharmaceutical manufacturing facility spanning 27,000 square meters in Florida, owned by the Indian pharmaceutical group Strides.
2018
Divested all of Grupo Procaps’ softgel veterinary products for companion animals, negotiating the transaction with Kyrovet, a leading company in Colombia’s veterinary sector.
2017
Led a global collaboration between 2014 and 2017 involving the early-stage development and licensing of flea and tick treatments as oral solid-dose medications for companion animals between Bayer Animal Health (now Elanco Animal Health) and the Japanese company Kumiai Chemical.
2017
Responsible for multiple M&A projects during his tenure at Bayer’s global headquarters for the Animal Health division from 2014 to 2017, including the global divestments of Renalzin and Hyonate, as well as the comprehensive valuation of the acquisition of the aminocyclopyrachlor herbicide asset owned by Dow-DuPont (from the same chemical group as picloram) for the control of woody weeds in livestock pastures.
2014
Responsible for the global strategic brand image renewal of Drontal between 2012 and 2014, serving as Global Brand Director at Bayer’s Animal Health headquarters in Leverkusen, Germany. Drontal is a prescription veterinary medicine used to treat intestinal parasites in dogs, cats, and other small companion animals.
2011
Responsible, as Global Portfolio Director, for the entire licensing and supply strategy for post-patent second brands of the active ingredient flufenacet, an innovative herbicide for cereal crops, worldwide with companies such as Dow-DuPont, ADAMA, and BASF between 2005 and 2011 at Bayer Crop Protection’s global headquarters in Monheim, Germany.
2001
Responsible for the business integration of Aventis CropScience into the Bayer Group across the Andean countries and Chile in 2001, achieving the highest integration synergy performance in the region in 2002 and 2003. As a result, Bayer’s global headquarters decided to sponsor 100% of Víctor Márceles’ MBA studies between 2004 and 2005 at the School of Management of the University of Bradford, United Kingdom.

Invention of 15 Patents (https://patents.justia.com/inventor/victor-jose-marceles-palma) for Bayer herbicides worldwide, as part of a business strategy for the integrated management of biological resistance in grass weeds in cereal crops.
