They have an active network of over 1500 contacts worldwide in the pharmaceutical, veterinary, and agriculture (Crop Protection) sectors, built during an international career in Europe and Latin America in these three sectors since 1996.

Arator operates primarily from Barranquilla, Colombia. Connecting Latin America with the world, Barranquilla is a city with an international airport in the Caribbean basin that offers multiple daily short-haul flights to Bogotá, Panama, and Miami. Its managing partner is a German citizen and has full mobility in Europe and Switzerland. Additionally, it has partnerships with executive consulting firms in Florida and Germany, which allows direct access to clients in North America and Europe.

Víctor Márceles

The company is led by MBA Víctor Márceles, who has over 25 years of experience in M&A, Licensing, and New Business Development at the local and global levels, especially in specialized industries such as Human Health, Animal Health, and Agriculture.

Víctor Márceles began his professional career in the logistics industry in the early 1990s and then transitioned to the tool steel industry in the mid-1990s, gaining experience in both Colombia and Latin America. In the late 1990s, he started his international career in the Agro industry, which he worked in for 15 years before moving to the veterinary industry, always focusing on Marketing, Strategy, and Corporate Development. In 2014, he began working in the international Health industry and returned to Colombia in 2017 to continue his management training in the pharmaceutical industry.

Víctor Márceles holds an MBA from the University of Bradford, United Kingdom, earned with distinction in 2005, a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the Externado University of Colombia, Bogotá, Colombia, obtained in 2002, and a degree in International Trade and Wholesale from the Colombo-German Institute for Technological Training in Bogotá, Colombia, completed in 1996.

Víctor Márceles holds an MBA from the University of Bradford, United Kingdom, earned with distinction in 2005, a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the Externado University of Colombia, Bogotá, Colombia, obtained in 2002, and a degree in International Trade and Wholesale from the Colombo-German Institute for Technological Training in Bogotá, Colombia, completed in 1996.

For the Procaps Group, during 2022, he led the mega-acquisition project and the full due diligence of Grupo Somar in Mexico

He led multiple divestments of brands and drug registrations during his tenure with the Procaps Group between 2017 and 2023 at a Latin American level. The projects involved pharmaceutical groups such as Roemmers and MegaLabs in Uruguay/Argentina, Sanfer in Mexico, Eurofarma in Brazil, Acino in Switzerland, Grupo Imberton in El Salvador, Grupo Luminova in Guatemala, Simka in Honduras, and Faes in Spain 

Also for the Procaps Group in 2021, he led the acquisition of a specialized plant for the manufacturing of soft gelatin capsules, with an area of 27,000 square meters in Florida, owned by the pharmaceutical group Strides (India)

In 2018, he divested all veterinary specialties of the Procaps Group in soft gelatin capsules for pets, negotiating with Kyrovet, a leading veterinary company in Colombia 

Between 2014 and 2017, he led a global cooperation for the early development and licensing of flea and tick control products as solid oral medications for pets between Bayer Animal Health (now Elanco Animal Health) and the Japanese company Kumiai Chemicals 

Responsible for multiple M&A projects during his tenure with the Bayer Animal Health headquarters in Leverkusen, Germany from 2014 to 2017, including the global divestments of Renalzin and Hyonate, as well as the comprehensive valuation of the acquisition of the aminocyclopyrachlor herbicide asset owned by Dow-DuPont (from the same chemical group as picloram) for the control of woody weeds in grazing pastures

Responsible for the strategic global image rejuvenation of the Drontal brand between 2012 and 2014 as the Global Brand Director at the headquarters of the Bayer Animal Health in Leverkusen, Germany. Drontal is a prescription veterinary medicine for the treatment of intestinal parasites in dogs, cats, and other small pets 

Responsible, as the Global Portfolio Director, for the entire licensing and supply strategy for post-patent second brands of the flufenacet molecule, an innovative herbicide for cereal crops, worldwide with companies such as Dow-DuPont, ADAMA, and BASF between 2005 and 2011 at Bayer Crop Protection headquarters in Monheim, Germany 

Inventor of 15 patents (https://patents.justia.com/inventor/victor-jose-marceles-palma) for herbicides at a global level within a business strategy for integrated management of biological resistance in grass weeds in cereal crops 

Responsible for the corporate integration of Aventis CropScience into the Bayer Group in the Andean countries and Chile in 2001, achieving the highest synergy performance in the region in 2002 and 2003. As a result, the parent company decided to fully sponsor Víctor Márceles‘ MBA studies from 2004 to 2005 at the School of Management at the University of Bradford, United Kingdom.
